Alcohol and Weight Loss

I don't know about you guys but I LOVE a couple glasses of wine at home after a long hard day at work. During a diet you don't really think about the calories you drink. I know that you should have full fat coke etc but I never think about alcohol (probably because I love it too much). But if I added up how many calories I am adding to my diet from wine alone, it's shocking. It feels like the time I spend at the gym is wasted because the calories I burn off is probably just the alcohol so my weight loss will be at a standstill.

I did some research and I found out the below information:
1 can of Beer = 150 calories, 13g Carbohydrates, 14mg Sodium
5 fl oz Wine = 100 calories, 4g Carbohydrates, 7mg Sodium
1.5 fl oz Vodka = 97 calories, 0g Carbohydrates, 0mg Sodium

Clearly beer is the worst in terms of carbs etc, and it has been proven to give women a gut and make us bloat, so I have decided to stay fully clear of beer for a while! I will never say I am completely giving up alcohol because I love it too much on the weekends, but won't be drinking during the week.

The below chart is also quite useful when comparing calories & alcohol!
